Yesterday I was extremely excited at playing in the snow; Today when I woke up, I know I am a little ill! Even though I didn’t sleep well and had a running nose, I still went out to explore New York City!
The Cloisters Museum and Gardens is located in the most Northern of Manhattan; it takes over half hour to get there. I took red line number 1 and got off the subway at 191 street station. Now I start to record the sign of every station. Every passenger has to take an elevator to go back to the ground. There is an operator inside operating it.
When I went out of the station, I felt so surprised! The view was so stunning! It still had snow covering. The instruction says taking a bus to get there, but I decided to walk through the park admiring the white world.
I walked along the Hudson river; the district crosses from Manhattan is New Jersey.
Seeing the snow always makes me excited. Children can play with boards when it snows.
The George Washington Bridge.
The squirrel was looking at me, looked like praying for food to me. So cute!
The way to The Cloisters was covered with snow, and it’s like a castle. I really like here!
It was built in 1938, the building shows medieval European style.
I felt I was in Europe!
A couple saw me taking the scene, so they also took pictures as my way.
I LIKE here!!!
I spent lots of time in taking pictures outside; finally I entered to see the display.
Every time I visit museums, I don’t focus on the art; I think the building and the atmosphere are also parts of art.
So far it is the most special museum in New York; even differs from ones in Chicago!
Its collections are also about medieval works of art. Most of them are related to Christ and religions. (15th ~16th century)
I couldn’t understand them, but the art is so fine and respected.
The most famous collection is the series of the unicorn. Unfortunately all pictures were out of focus.
Never be tired of photography!
The western dragon. This is a dragon year.
Paper cards and chess.
Every detail is really delicate.
When I checked my coat, the man suggested me to keep the scarf in case I went to the outdoor garden. He was right! It was so cold outside!Gardens in winter time look bare. But they were covered with snow, I was so lucky to see the secenry.
I stayed here for several hours, I tried walking back the subway station. I got lost again; luckily I had my smart phone with me!
I went back to mid-town and yelped a Japanese deli. Go Go curry has high-rated reviews and cheap! Katsu curry tasted not bad. The pork was soft and juicy.
On the way to Penn station, I went pass The New Yorker where I had lived for one month when I just arrived in New York. I miss the neighbor. Because my mom, my Korean friend and I walked around here very often at that time.
During the period we created lots of beautiful memories!
